Tomato Jubilee Tarasenko: reviews + photos

This year the Yubileiny Tarasenko tomato turned 30, but the variety has not yet lost its popularity. This tomato was brought out by an amateur breeder, it is not included in the state register, but gardeners love and often plant Jubilee in their beds. And all because the Yubileiny Tarasenko tomato has many strengths, and it has absolutely no shortcomings.

In this article, the tomato variety Yubileiny Tarasenko will be considered in detail, all its advantages and growing rules will be described. Here you can also find photos of bushes, fruits, as well as reviews of those who planted this variety on their site.

Characteristics and description of the variety

The Tarasenko variety is based on several varieties and hybrids, one of them is the multi-fruited Mexican tomato San Morzano. The result of the efforts of the amateur breeder was a varietal tomato with medium early ripening, striking in its yield.

The characteristics of the Tarasenko tomato have the following:

  • bushes of an indeterminate type, often reaching a height of 2-3 meters (because of this, the tomato is called liana-shaped);
  • the stems are powerful and thick, the leaves are simple, not pubescent, reminiscent of potato leaves;
  • There are a lot of flowers on a tomato, inflorescences are located in the form of a bunch of grapes;
  • fruits ripen about 120 days after the first shoots of tomato seedlings appear;
  • the root system of the Tarasenko tomato is very well developed, while the root does not go down, but branches under the ground, which allows the plant to feed on minerals and water from the soil;
  • the structure of fruit brushes is complex, in each of them about 30 tomatoes are formed;
  • the first flower brush is located above the ninth leaf, the rest alternate every two leaves;
  • the tomato variety Yubileiny Tarasenko has good resistance to low temperatures, therefore it is often grown in the middle lane and even in Siberia (under film shelters);
  • the variety perfectly resists most diseases, including late blight, brown spot;
  • the color of the fruits is red-orange, their shape is rounded, slightly elongated, there is a small "nose" at the end of the tomato;
  • the average weight of fruits is 90 grams, on the lower bunches the tomatoes are larger than on the top of the bush;
  • ripening of Tarasenko tomatoes is gradual, the harvest can be harvested for 1-1.5 months;
  • the taste of the fruits is high, tomatoes are excellent for pickling, delicious in salads and fresh;
  • there are a lot of dry substances in tomatoes, so they have a fleshy pulp and are well stored;
  • the yield of the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety is high - up to eight kilograms of tomatoes can be harvested from one bush, but for this you will have to take good care of the plants.
Advice! Since the ripening of the Yubileiny Tarasenko tomato is uneven, it is recommended to harvest the crop during the period of blanche maturity - the fruits ripen perfectly in room conditions.

The taste and aroma of Tarasenko tomatoes are very good, so they like to eat them fresh, put them in salads. The tomato has a thin, but strong peel that does not crack during pickling or pickling - tomatoes are also great for winter preparations. It will not be possible to prepare only juice from the Yubileiny tomato crop, since the fruits are very fleshy, there is little liquid in them, but the sauce from them will come out great.

Pros of tomato

This variety has practically no flaws.If you take good care of the bushes, do not spare fertilizers and water for irrigation, and carry out the prevention of pests and infections, Yubileiny Tarasenko will certainly please with a consistently high yield.

Important! The creator of this tomato claimed that 8 kg per bush is not the limit. If you manage the plant correctly and care for it correctly, the number of fruits can be doubled.

Indeed, the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety has many advantages:

  • excellent fruiting, practically independent of external factors;
  • good taste of fruits;
  • the possibility of long-term storage and the suitability of tomatoes for transportation;
  • the resistance of the bush to diseases and the ability to withstand a drop in temperature;
  • very good yields.
Attention! Unlike most indeterminate hybrids, the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety is intended for growing in the open field, but the tomato also feels great in a greenhouse.

How to grow

This variety is completely unpretentious, but, like all tall and fruitful tomatoes, Yubileiny Tarasenko needs proper care. In the climatic conditions of Russia, tomatoes are grown in seedlings, so you first need to sow the seeds.

Important! The gardener can safely collect seeds from his own tomatoes, because Yubileiny Tarasenko is a varietal tomato, his seeds contain complete genetic information. That is, the tomato does not "degenerate" over the years.

Growing seedlings

There is nothing complicated and unusual in growing Tarasenko tomato seedlings: it is grown in the same way as seedlings of other varieties:

  1. Planting dates depend on the climate in the region. In central Russia, Tarasenko's seeds are sown for seedlings at the end of March. You need to focus on the fact that by the time the seedlings are transplanted into the ground, the seedlings should be two months old. For greenhouse tomato cultivation, the seeds should be sown a couple of weeks earlier.
  2. The soil for tomatoes must be loose and nutritious, it must be disinfected. The acidity is preferably low or neutral.
  3. The seeds should also be disinfected. A pink manganese solution is suitable for this.
  4. It would be nice to treat the planting material with a growth stimulator. For example, "Immunocytofit".
  5. The seeds are laid out according to the 2x2 cm scheme, they need to be buried by 1.5-2 cm. Sprinkle with dry soil on top and watered with warm, settled water. They pick up the box with foil and wait for the shoots to appear.
  6. When the bulk of the seeds hatch, the film is removed. Tomatoes are placed on a windowsill, not far from a radiator or other heat source.
  7. Tomatoes dive in the stage of a pair of true leaves. Tarasenko's tomato pickers need large containers, because the roots of the tomato are powerful - 250-300 ml cups are suitable.

Advice! Seedlings of tomatoes of the Yubileiny variety are prone to stretching. To prevent this from happening, you need to supplement the tomatoes with electric fluorescent lamps.

Planting tomatoes in the ground

Tomatoes are usually hardened before planting in the garden. This should be done 10-14 days before the upcoming planting, the temperature is lowered gradually. By the time the seedlings are transferred to the ground, each plant should have 7-8 leaves, the presence of a flower ovary is possible.

The landing rules for Jubilee Tarasenko are as follows:

  1. In advance, the beds are watered with a solution of potassium permanganate and dug up.
  2. Wells for tomatoes are made in a checkerboard pattern, the distance between them should be 60-70 cm.The depth of the hole is large - about 30 cm, the diameter is about 15 cm.
  3. The seedlings are buried on the first true leaves, sprinkled with earth and lightly tamped the soil.
  4. If the tomato is too long, it is planted at an angle (you can even put the seedlings on the ground by digging in the roots).
  5. Immediately after planting, the tomatoes should be watered with warm water. The first few days after this, the seedlings are not watered until they get stronger.

Tarasenko tomato care

Tomato does not need complex care, but all liana-like varieties require a special attitude towards themselves - the gardener must take this into account.

Caring for tomatoes is as follows:

  1. When the seedlings get stronger, an additional leaf will appear on it, it is necessary to tie up the tomatoes. It is better to use a trellis - supports in the form of stakes and a wire stretched between them. A rope or a thin strip of soft cloth is lowered to each tomato, a stem is tied.
  2. After watering or rain, the ground must be loosened.
  3. The bush is formed into one or two stems. The rest of the shoots must be removed at intervals of 10 days throughout the entire growing season of the tomato. The length of the stepchildren should not exceed 3-4 cm, otherwise their removal will be too traumatic for the plant.
  4. It is also better to cut the lower leaves, only they do it gradually - removing 2-3 leaves a day.
  5. Tomatoes are treated with copper preparations about three times over the summer to protect the bushes from fungal infections.
  6. Water the tomatoes regularly, remove weeds in the aisles, inspect the bushes for pests.
Attention! When a tomato of the Yubileiny Tarasenko variety grows to 170 cm, pinch its top, leaving a couple of leaves. If this is not done, the vine will grow up to 300 cm, which will negatively affect the size and quality of the fruit.

It is better to pick tomatoes unripe, in a couple of days they will turn red and will be stored for a long time. The variety is considered a salad variety, but is suitable for almost any purpose.

Feedback

Igor Petrovich, Shakhty
Last year I planted a tomato Legenda Tarasenko and Jubilee. Almost identical tomatoes have grown, which differ only in the shape of the fruit. The bushes turned out to be high, I pinched them at a height of about two meters. There were a lot of ovaries, tomatoes were constantly blooming, until autumn. I was afraid that the ripening tomatoes would break off the branches, but this did not happen, since they ripened gradually. But the last flowers had to be cut off, all the same they would not have had time to give a harvest, since autumn had come. From a dozen bushes of both varieties, we collected several buckets of excellent tomatoes. Next year I will definitely plant these tomatoes again, especially since I have collected a lot of seeds!

Conclusion

Reviews about the tomato Jubilee Tarasenko are mostly positive. Gardeners from the central and southern regions do not have any problems with growing this crop, but in the North it is better to use a film shelter at least until June 20.

The tomato has many advantages, the main ones are yield, unpretentiousness, resistance to external factors. Seeds of the Tarasenko variety must be bought for those who have never grown tall tomatoes yet - this is a great start for beginners.
