It was bred at the end of the 70s of the last century at the Institute of Selection and Seed Production in the Moscow Region. In 1986, the Zdorovye pepper variety was officially registered in the state register of Russia and approved for use in the most northern and eastern regions of Russia, from the Murmansk region to Magadan. This could be possible due to the unique health characteristic of pepper plants. Plants of this variety are quite capable of developing, blooming and producing good yields in low light conditions.

Attention! Given the general demand of this culture for lighting in general, and for sunlight, in particular, this feature of the variety allows you to grow peppers in conditions where most other varieties simply cannot bear fruit.

Sweet pepper bushes Health are distinguished by their semi-spreading shape and rather considerable height, they can grow up to 1.5-1.7 meters. Therefore, it is best to grow them on a trellis and be sure to tie them up as they grow. The fruits of the Zdorovye variety are distinguished by the following characteristics:

  • The shape of the peppers is prismatic, elongated, the surface is slightly wavy, the fruits droop down. In general, in shape and size, the peppers of this variety somewhat resemble representatives of the hot pepper family, so not everyone dares to try them from the bush.
  • At the stage of technical maturity, when the fruits can already be eaten, they are characterized by a light green color. Having reached biological maturity, that is, the moment when the seeds are fully ripe in them for further sowing, the peppers acquire a red hue.
  • The thickness of the walls is not very large - about 4.2 mm, but they themselves are quite fleshy and juicy, the skin is thin and tender.
  • The size of the fruits is small, they reach 10-12 cm in length, the average diameter is 5.5-6.5 cm.The weight of one pepper usually does not exceed 35-45 g.
  • Pepper Health has good and excellent taste characteristics. Fresh, even at the stage of technical maturity, it is very tasty and does not taste bitter at all. But for spinning, it is better to wait for biological maturity, since in cans in a green form, it can change its taste.

I tried to grow everything on it, but somehow my hands did not reach the bell pepper - it is very thermophilic for our regions. I sow a small amount of bell pepper early, so that in April I can plant it in a greenhouse already blooming. There were already a lot of buds on the pepper, and by the end of May we already had the opportunity to pick the first peppercorns. To be honest, in the first year of planting I did not even expect such an effect. And now, after the second year of cultivation, I am unlikely to give it up. Last year, I grew pepper Zdorovye from the Aelita company. The seeds cost me very inexpensively, although there are not many of them in the package - about 20 pieces. Germination rate was almost 100%, the seedlings turned out to be strong, plump. Many fruits are set, not very large, conical, medium walls. The taste is quite average, without a pronounced peppery aroma. As a result, I used the entire crop for harvesting, since no one was interested in it in a stuffed form. Although the yield of the variety was quite decent, the taste did not seem to me personally.
